Winter Sports Season 2024-25 RCS Student-Athletes Wrap Up Winter 2024-25 Sports Season

“I could not be more proud of how the season went,” said the Director of Athletics, Physical Education, Health & Wellness, Ms. Murphy. “Watching teams throughout the season showed me how much each team grew with each passing week.”

A big thank you goes to the coaches, parents, caregivers, staff, chaperones, transportation team, and most notably, our student-athletes for an exciting season! Each of you plays an important role in supporting and improving our athletic program, and it is greatly appreciated!

Congratulations again to our teams on a job well done!

Boys Varsity Basketball Team

The Varsity Boys Basketball team had a solid season overall. The team started slowly but finished with 5 wins before the sectional quarterfinal game against Ichabod Crane. As a team, the Ravens relied heavily on grit and determination during a tough season to win 4 of 8 down the stretch. In their first sectional game, RCS lost to Ichabod Crane in the final seconds.

Mason Carkner and Gavin Lochner led the team on defense. The offense was led by Liam Borcsok with 159 points and 124 rebounds, Cody Reville with 146 points, 99 Rebounds, and 46 assists, and Mason Carkner was the scoring leader for the Ravens with 182 points at an average of 9.6 points per game.

Congratulations on a great season!

Indoor Track and Field

The Boys and Girls Indoor Track & Field teams grew in numbers this year, with almost 30 student-athletes participating this season. The team competed in five league meets and the Colonial Council Championships. Also, the team sent student-athletes to Sectionals and the State Qualifier Meet! The team enjoyed competing in meets on local college campuses, including Union College and Hudson Valley Community College. The athletes also got to experience a new venue this year at CBA with a true 200m track.

Girls Indoor Track and Field was recognized as an NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete team, meaning at least 75% of the team roster had an average of 90 or above! Great job!
